1.    Long in the tooth بعد ما شاب أرسلوه إلى المدرسة (عامية.. بعد ما شاب ودوه الكتاب) If someone is long in the tooth, they are a bit too old to do something.

2.    Long shot   (فرصه في النجاح شبه معدومة)If something is a long shot, there is only a very small chance of success.

3.    Long time no hear (لا نسمع صوته منذ زمن) we haven't heard from someone, through phone calls or emails for a long time.

4.    Long time no see (لم أره منذ حين ومين) the speaker has not seen that person for a long time.

5.    Look after number 1 (حافظ على القمة)You are number one, you should think about yourself first, not others.
